d/Deaf Education Terminology Poster
The Auditory Outreach team has worked collaboratively with a number of individuals in the Deaf community as well as Teachers of the d/Deaf and Hard of Hearing to create an based around inclusive, welcoming and supportive terminology to use for d/Deaf and Hard of Hearing education and beyond. This short infographic is a starting place for conversations and a reminder about the importance of using appropriate, up to date terminology. On the back of the infographic, you will find a section that gives some advice about how to deal with a situation where someone is using outdated and/or offensive terminology.
